The book "The metasomatic secondary quartzite formation in Bulgaria" was published on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Geological Institute of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences "Strashimir Dimitrov". It represents a generalization of the results obtained in the course of four decades from the studies of the so-called secondary quartzite (hydrothermally altered rocks). These rocks are valuable accompanying species in the search for various ore-mineralizations and may be also used as individual raw materials themselves. On the other hand, the chosen natural sites of the Sredna Gora and the Rhodopes volcanogenic zone are of undoubted interest for the studies of similar phenomena on a world scale. In methodological respect, the work style of researchers has been progressively developed in the course of time comprising geochemical, mineralogical-petrologic, physicochemical petrologic and structural investigations.
